Artist Statement

In all of my work, I explore color and texture and try to capture the ethereal quality of emotion. My paintings are recognizable by their rich depth of color and tactile surfaces. My books beg to be picked up and caressed. Beaded jewelry mixes the texture of glass beads and semi-precious stones with my strong color sense.

My work is small; precious without being saccharine. Each piece holds a secret or perhaps a private epiphany. They are meant to be touched and investigated.

I'm interested in the places where art and craft overlap; where functional objects are beautiful and artwork finds a place in your day-to-day life. I want to make my artwork accessible, while still retaining a hint of mystery. I want you to come back to a piece over and over, and find a different meaning with each interaction.
